Valley
 School Of Creative Knitting

Just what level of knitter are you?  Where does your skill set place  you?  Here's how we look at it at Valley SOCK.  Find where you fit, and then consider this when choosing classes.

Beginning Knitter - Someone who has never knit before, or someone who learned eons ago and can’t remember how to cast on.

Advanced Beginning Knitter - Someone who has learned to knit, and can cast on, create the knit and purl stitch, make an increase and a decrease, and bind off.

Intermediate Knitter - Someone who can cast on, knit, purl, create mirrored increases and decreases, bind off, pick up stitches, and has knit at least a few items to completion.

Experienced Knitter - Someone with the skills of an Intermediate knitter who has knit a number of items and a few garments that require some shaping.

Advanced Knitter - Someone very comfortable with their knitting who has no problem knitting from patterns, and has knit sweaters and socks.

Some people say they don't have the patience to learn to knit.

Pshaw, I say!  Knitting will help you develop patience.  It engages the whole brainright side for creativity and left side for counting, pattern following.  It lowers blood pressure and heart rate as well as meditation or yoga do. The repetitive motion is like watching an aquarium—it lowers stress.

I’ll bet you DO have the patience, and you’ll be really glad you gave it a shot!

Or they say my fingers/hands just don’t work like that!

Again, pshaw, I say! If you can tie your tennies or button your blouse, you can knit. I bet you couldn’t type the first time you sat at a keyboard, either. Knitting must be learned, and then practiced.

Let’s see just what you CAN do!

AND, I have a money-back guarantee!  If, after finishing all three beginning knitting classes, you feel you are not able to start on a simple project by yourself, I'll refund your money!
