Knitting From Charts
  One 3-hour class

Many knitting patterns now include charts, or are entirely charted.  Reading charts is not difficult, it just takes a bit of understanding and patience.

Come learn to read charts, and start a small lace washcloth knitting from a chart.
Requirements:  
  You must have completed Beginning Knitting, or be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and pick up stitches.
Supplies:
 

worsted weight 100% cotton yarn (Sugar and Cream or like yarn), and size 7  needles

Knitting Smarter! (a review of knitting basics)
  One 3-hour class

Knit one, Purl One,

Knitting Smarter is just that – learn how to do things the easy way. This class is full of tips and techniques to help make your knitting better and easier.

We’ll review all of knitting – from casting on to binding off – fibers, increases and decreases, twisted stitches, needle choices and more.

You’ll walk away energized and enlightened!

Bring some scrap yarn and appropriate needles

Learn to Knit All Kinds of Cables

One 4-hour class
Cost $40
Cables may look difficult, but they aren't. Learn their history, their language, and how to knit them in this class. We'll knit a mock cable, and two types of regular cables, plus talk a lot about more intricate cable work. Many handouts and lots of information will be available.
 
Homework:  
  With Aran (white or beige) colored worsted weight yarn, cast on 20 stitches. Knit for 1½ inches in garter stitch. Leave knitting on needles.
Requirements:  
  You must have completed Beginning Knitting, or be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, increase, decrease and pick up stitches.

Lace Knitting

 One 3-hour class
Cost $30

Creating lace is just making holes in your knitting, on purpose! Learn how to create those holes, read a charted lace pattern, and understand what’s really happening. We’ll create a lace washcloth from cotton in class.

Requirements:
You must be able to knit and purl, make increases and decreases, and be comfortable with your knitting.

Supplies:
1 ball Sugar & Cream cotton, solid color (not variegated!)
Size 7 needles.

Fair Isle Knitting

One 3-hour class
Cost $30

Learn the art of Fair Isle knitting, or stranded knitting. You work with two colors on each row, holding one color in each hand. Not as hard as it sounds, and think of the wonderful colorwork items you can make. We’ll start a snowflake headband as you learn the art of Fair Isle knitting.

Requirements:
Basic knitting skills

Supplies:
Two colors of worsted weight yarn, about 100 yards of each
Size 7 circular knitting needle, 24 inch
